Kaki Lima Boston is a wife and husband team (Retno and Pete) on a mission to introduce high-quality Indonesian cuisine to a wider audience. And on Sunday, Nov. 6, we are taking our 'Best of Boston' pop up restaurant series back to Tavern Road in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood.
This pop up is going to be extra special! Here's why:
We are teaming up with Tavern Road's wunderkind bartender Tenzin Samdo, who will offer specially-designed and Indonesia-inspired cocktails to accompany the dinner. One cocktail is included in the ticket price! Also! The inimitable Jacqueline Dole of The Parlor Ice Cream Co. will be with us, serving up an Indonesian-inspired ice cream for dessert.
WE CAN'T WAIT.
The dinner will be a flavor-packed multi-course meal (menu is below). While one of Tenzin's amazing cocktails is included in the ticket price, further cocktails, beer, wine and other drinks will also be available from Tavern Road. The bar will open at 6 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Limited seating is available and these events typically sell out really fast. So get your tickets right away if you want a seat.
Also, due to the nature of the event, we will not be able to accommodate allergies and other dietary restrictions (sorry!). Be aware that shrimp paste, tree nuts and peanuts are used in a lot of Indonesian cooking.
For those of you new to Kaki Lima Boston, here's a little bit about us: Retno uses only the freshest and most authentic Indonesian ingredients and techniques. This is Indonesian food as it should be. You can read more about Retno here. And you can read what people are saying about her cooking here.
